Source: Orlando Hudson to join Sox

The Chicago White Sox have agreed to terms with veteran infielder Orlando Hudson, according to a major league source.

The San Diego Padres released Hudson from his contract on Thursday. Hudson, who signed an two-year, $11.5 million contract with the Padres before the 2011 season, was hitting .211 with one homer and 11 RBIs. Hudson was making $5.5 million this year, with a $2 million buyout for next year.

The deal isn't expected to be officially announced Saturday, according to the source.
