David DeJesus returns to Cubs

The Chicago Cubs activated David DeJesus from the disabled list Wednesday after the outfielder missed 33 games with a right shoulder sprain and optioned outfielder Dave Sappelt to Triple-A Iowa.

DeJesus, batting .260, injured the shoulder on June 14 colliding with the outfield wall against the New York Mets. He had four hits in three rehab games with Rookie League Mesa this week.

DeJesus will play center field against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Alfonso Soriano, the subject of trade talk with the New York Yankees, will get the night off, with rookie Junior Lake starting in left field.
