The Bulls had six players in double figures, that should tell you all you need to know about how balanced their scoring attack was. For the first time this series they got off to a good start and shot the ball well . After struggling so much throughout the series offensively, Tom Thibodeau has to be very pleased with the way his team responded.
Thibodeau's group did not allow the Pacers to get into much of a rhythm all night. The Pacers shot under 40 percent and did not have much of an edge in the post as they have during the series. If the Bulls play like this in the second round, they will get to the Eastern Conference finals. They played with the edge Rose and Noah always talk about.
Taj Gibson had one of his best games of the season. With Carlos Boozer in foul trouble and ineffective all night, Gibson came in and played 30 minutes, scored 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Kyle Korver added 13 points, and Omer Asik and C.J. Watson played well in spurts off the bench.
Playing with a sprained left ankle, Rose once again carried the Bulls on his back at times and made the plays he had to make, scoring 25 points. No one will know just how much pain he was in, but the fact that he was out on the floor and making the plays he has made all season for the Bulls gave them a huge confidence boost.
