Derrick Rose: Glad to Have Joakim Noah

CHICAGO -- With the rumors swirling, Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose didn't believe Joakim Noah would be traded as part of a deal for the Denver Nuggets' Carmelo Anthony.

"I knew that he really wasn't going anywhere," Rose said Tuesday on "The Waddle & Silvy Show" on ESPN 1000. "If we would have let him go we still would have been looking for someone to replace him because [Carlos Boozer] would be the only one down there."

"Who wouldn't want to play with Carmelo? He's a great player. It was a hard decision but I'm happy [Noah] came back and that the Bulls made the decision to extend his contract. I know the organization and the fans are happy."

Sources briefed on the state of Anthony's ongoing push to be dealt by the Nuggets told ESPN.com last month that the Bulls were 1A on his list along with the New York Knicks. But it was believed any deal with the Bulls would have to include Noah.

Asked if he would like to see an Anthony trade later in the season when Denver might not have such a steep asking price, Rose said: "If that chance is there, why not? That would be a good addition to this team. I think we will be a better team. But I'm happy with the team we have right now."
