CHICAGO -- Chicago Bulls forward Taj Gibson missed Tuesday night's 121-76 win against the Philadelphia 76ers after suffering a concussion Saturday, and Kurt Thomas replaced him in the starting lineup.
Gibson sat out practice Monday after banging his head on the court in the third quarter of Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
"He won't go tonight," Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said before the game. "He's feeling better, but he's not quite ready yet.
"He was able to do some light exercise, so I think he'll be fine after today."
Thibodeau said Gibson would be reevaluated at the game Tuesday and is expected to travel with the team to Washington. He is hopeful that the second-year forward will be able to play Wednesday night against the Wizards.
The Bulls were already short-handed as center Joakim Noah is sidelined after undergoing surgery on his right hand.
This was the first start of the season for the seldom-used Thomas, who started nine games for the Milwaukee Bucks last season.
