Luol Deng, Rip Hamilton out Thursday

Chicago Bulls forward Luol Deng (wrist) and guard Rip Hamilton (groin, thigh) will remain on the sidelines for Thursday's contest against the New York Knicks, the team announced.

The news that Hamilton is not playing comes as little surprise. Chicago's marquee offseason acquisition will be sidelined for the fourth time in five games. He played Sunday against the Miami Heat but said the injury makes him feel as if he is, "playing on one leg." Thursday's contest will mark the 13th game Hamilton has missed because of an injury this season.

On the other hand, the team has been more optimistic on Deng's prognosis. Although he will miss his seventh consecutive game Thursday night with a torn wrist ligament, Thibodeau said Thursday that Deng "just worked out at the hotel. He's doing more and more each day. He's getting close."

These medical maladies are the latest in a long line for the Bulls. In addition to Deng and Hamilton, Derrick Rose, C.J. Watson, Joakim Noah, Taj Gibson and John Lucas III have missed time with injuries at different points during the season.
