Lou Amundson signs with Bulls

Former Minnesota Timberwolves power forward Lou Amundson signed a 10-day contract with the Chicago Bulls.

ESPN.com NBA Insider Marc Stein reported Friday that the two sides were in talks.

"It's interesting. All of a sudden, a number of teams wanted to get in on him today," Amundson's agent Mark Bartelstein said. "The kid has such class. He could have signed with someone for the rest of the season, but he committed to the Bulls and stuck with them. That says a lot about the kid."

Amundson, who signed the contract Saturday after taking a physical, will help fill the void created by the MCL sprain suffered by Taj Gibson, who could miss a couple of weeks.
