Loyola senior point guard Courtney Stanley will miss the entire 2011-12 season after recently tearing his ACL during a preseason workout, Ramblers coach Porter Moser announced on Tuesday.
Stanley started 24 games and led the Ramblers with 102 assists last season. He's started 54 games in the last two seasons and averaged 6.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.1 steals.
"First and foremost, we feel terrible for Courtney," Moser said in a statement. "We were counting on him to provide us with experience and leadership in the backcourt this season, so this is a big loss. However, as tough of a blow as this is for Courtney and our team, this is an opportunity for some of our other guys to step up and fill this huge void."
Stanley will have one year of eligibility remaining after medically redshirting this season.
