Freshman guard Macari Brooks has withdrawn from DePaul following further review by the NCAA regarding his initial eligibility, the school announced on Thursday.
It had been announced Oct. 14 that Brooks received partial relief by the NCAA and would sit out the 2011-2012 season. He was previously expected to remain with the team.
Mike Irvin, Brooks' former club basketball coach with the Mac Irvin Fire, thought Brooks was likely headed to play at Indiana Hills Community College in Iowa this season. Brooks starred at Rich South High School in Richton Park, Ill.
