Tony Freeland to transfer from DePaul

DePaul junior forward Tony Freeland has decided to transfer, a school spokesperson confirmed on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-7, 227-pound Freeland was sitting out this year because of a shoulder injury. He underwent surgery on his right shoulder before the season.

Freeland averaged 6.8 points and 3.8 rebounds during two seasons at DePaul. He scored 20 or more points in four games and started eight games as a sophomore.

Freeland is from Los Angeles and was part of DePaul's 2009 recruiting class.
