Mike Trumpy injures leg

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- Northwestern sophomore running back Mike Trumpy suffered a right knee sprain during Saturday's 38-35 loss to Illinois.

Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald said Trumpy will be re-evaluated after the team returns to Evanston.

The injury occurred on the Wildcats' first drive of the second half. Trumpy hopped off the field after suffering the injury and was later carted to the locker room. He did not return.

Trumpy rushed for 63 yards on 12 carries before departing the game.

Trumpy missed one game earlier this season due to a concussion and missed the final two games of last season with a wrist injury.

Trumpy led Northwestern with 530 rushing yards last season. He has 182 rushing yards this season.
