CHICAGO -- One of the biggest names in mixed martial arts will be coming to the Chicago area for his next bout as it's confirmed that Fedor Emelianenko will battle Brett Rogers at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates on Nov. 7, according to a source.
As first reported on ESPNChicago.com, the MMA promotion Strikeforce was waiting for Illinois' athletic commission to sanction the event, and it received that green light.
The card will be televised nationally on CBS.
Emelianenko (30-1-0) is considered the No. 1 MMA fighter in the world. Rogers (10-0) is coming off a first-round technical knockout of Andrei Arlovski.
