Carleton Scott to remain in NBA draft

Notre Dame forward Carleton Scott will forgo his final year of eligibility and remain in the NBA draft.

The 6-foot-8, 218-pound Scott was Notre Dame's third-leading scorer last season with a career-high 11.2 points per game and led the Irish with 7.4 rebounds and 1.9 blocked shots.

ESPN.com's Chad Ford rates Scott as the 120th prospect in the draft. Known for his defense, Scott is considered to be a raw offensive player.

Scott started 29 of the 30 games he played in at Notre Dame last season. He helped lead the Irish to a 27-7 record and 14-4 mark in Big East play.

Scott, who played three seasons (2008-11) with the Irish, had one year of eligibility remaining after sitting out his freshman season in 2007-08. He will graduate this month with a degree in history and computer applications.
