Kellen Davis misses practice

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Chicago Bears starting tight end Kellen Davis was sidelined Thursday with a stiff back.

Davis tweaked his back heading into last Monday night's game in New York but was still able to start the game. He was called for holding and dropped a pass in the second quarter before being removed in the second half with the rest of the offensive starters.

Linebacker Lance Briggs (knee), defensive tackle Anthony Adams (calf), defensive end Corey Wootton (knee), cornerback Mike Holmes and receiver Sam Hurd (ankle) also skipped Thursday's workout.

Bears coach Lovie Smith already ruled out Briggs, Adams and Wootton for the third preseason game against Tennessee.

Cornerback Zack Bowman, however, will return to action after missing the Giants game with a minor concussion.

"It felt to good to get out there this week, get my wind back and get back with my teammates," Bowman said. "I'm going to play against the Titans."
