LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Chicago Bears running back Marion Barber was among a lengthy list of players who sat out practice Monday in advance of the team's preseason finale against the Cleveland Browns on Thursday.
Barber injured his left calf in the first half of Saturday's game in Tennessee after only carrying the ball once and catching a pass out of the backfield.
In addition to Barber, tight end Desmond Clark (bruised knee), linebacker Lance Briggs (knee), defensive tackle Anthony Adams (calf), tight end Kellen Davis (back), receiver Sam Hurd (ankle), defensive end Corey Wootton (knee) and receiver Devin Hester were spectators on Monday.
The Bears generally don't allow injured starters to play in the fourth preseason game.
"As you look at our pattern that we use on preseason games in the past, you can follow along with that a little bit," coach Lovie Smith said. "We haven't really decided (who won't play), but if a player has any type of (minor injury) we won't play him much then ... we normally go with that."
