Patrick Kane, Marian Hossa out Sunday

Chicago Blackhawks forwards Patrick Kane and Marian Hossa were declared out for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Kings, according to coach Joel Quenneville.

Both players practiced Saturday, though Kane left the ice after getting tangled with assistant coach Mike Kitchen. Quenneville said there has been no setback but it's all "part of the process."

Kane was expected to miss up to three weeks after injuring his left ankle on Dec. 7 against the Flames.

Hossa's injury is believed to be in his knee. It occurred during a collision in practice with Nick Boynton last month. Hossa told the media he would be a game-day decision, but minutes later Quenneville said he would not play.

"It's slow but it's progressing," Hossa said. "That's the main thing."

Viktor Stalberg was also ruled out for Sunday's game after getting hit into the boards on Wednesday night against the Colorado Avalanche.

Corey Crawford will start in goal on Sunday against the Kings.
