Jonathan Toews leaves game

ST. LOUIS -- Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews left Tuesday's 3-1 loss against the St. Louis Blues after taking a hit along the boards by Matt D'Agostini in the first period.

The Hawks announced during the first intermission that Toews suffered an upper-body injury and would not return to the game. He missed the final 6:47 of the period.

Toews has 15 goals and 18 assists and is second on the team with 33 points.

The team didn't update Toews' condition after the game. Coach Joel Quenneville said more information on the injury would be available Wednesday.
