Kane went down near the blue line, along the boards before skating gingerly off the ice.
"He's been dealing with it," coach Joel Quenneville said after practice. "It's one of those that lingers on throughout the whole year. Sometimes it looks like it goes away and a little tweak like that and you're back at it [in pain]."
Kane missed eight games after injuring his ankle in a game against Calgary on Dec. 5. Just recently Kane started to show movement on the ice despite the injury. It's unknown how this setback might affect his play.
"He should be fine," Quenneville said.
Kane has 39 points in 42 games this season.
