David Toews acquired by Blackhawks

Jonathan Toews has lived up to expectations. The Chicago Blackhawks are hoping his brother is made of the same stuff.

The team acquired 21-year-old David Toews from the New York Islanders on Friday for future considerations. The younger brother of the Blackhawks' captain had 20 goals and 28 assists last season for the Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL.

The Blackhawks added him to the team's roster for the Toronto Maple Leafs Rookie Tournament this weekend at General Motors Centre in Oshawa, Ontario.

David Toews, a native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, was selected in the third round of the 2008 NHL draft by the Islanders. He played at North Dakota from 2008 to 2010.
