"Mongo" was one of the most dependable and colorful players in Bears history. A third-round pick by New England in 1980, McMichael joined the Bears as a free agent in 1981 and played 13 seasons in Chicago. He was two-time first-team All-Pro and two-time Pro Bowler. An iron man, no player in Chicago history played in more games than McMichael's 191, and he played in 101 consecutive at the grueling defensive tackle position. His off-field antics included dabbling in pro wrestling and he has now entered the political arena. He had 92.5 sacks with the Bears and was a stalwart on the Super Bowl XX champs.
