"The Galloping Ghost" helped legitimize the fledgling NFL when George Halas signed him to a barnstorming tour after his legendary career at Illinois. He played seven seasons for Chicago and was a three-time all-NFL selection. ESPN named Grange the greatest college player of all time, and he was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 1963.
