4. George Mikan, Joliet Catholic (Joliet), Class of 1941

Mikan changed basketball due to his size and skills. After graduating from Joliet Catholic, he attended DePaul and was a two-time national player of the year. He played seven professional seasons and averaged 23.1 points and 13.4 rebounds in his career. He won five titles with the Minneapolis Lakers and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1959.
