Some believe it was a mistake to trade Greg Olsen to the Panthers for a third-round pick in 2011. He had been one of the team's best receivers and established a rapport with Jay Cutler, but Mike Martz's offense emphasized a blocking tight end. The Bears immediately missed Olsen as Kellen Davis struggled. So Phil Emery targeted the tight end position in free agency and was able to land Martellus Bennett, who signed a four-year deal. Bennett was considered a disappointment in Dallas, where his best season was a 33-catch, 260-yard effort in 2010. Bennett broke out last season with the Giants, catching 55 balls for 626 yards and five touchdowns. He could help take pressure off Brandon Marshall.
