Today's White Sox-Tigers game in Detroit has been postponed because of rain.
No makeup date has been scheduled.
But the Sox did make news today as they signed Scott Podsednik to a minor-league deal. Podsednik, who was part of the Sox' 2005 World Series team, could be insurance if Jerry Owens can't fill the void created by the injury to center fielder Dewayne Wise.
"Jerry Owens will get a chance, but if he's not able to or up to it, I think Scott Podsednik will be in the major leagues,'' ESPNChicago.com baseball expert Bruce Levine said. "Podsednik wasn't used much by Colorado last year and didn't make the team this year.
"You have to wonder what he has left. Will he give the Sox something similar to what he gave them in 2005?"
