Classic NBA Tip Off: Running of the Bulls


ESPN Classic celebrates the beginning of the 2001 NBA season with Classic NBA Tip Off from Saturday at 2 p.m. to Sunday at 6 a.m. ET. "Running of the Bulls" looks back at some of Chicago's greatest games from the mid-1980s to the mid-'90s as well as the 1987 and 1988 NBA Slam Dunk contests. Here's the Classic NBA Tip Off schedule:

Saturday, Oct. 27

2 p.m. - Chicago Bulls @ Indiana Pacers (1995)
In Michael Jordan's first game back after his first retirement, the Bulls lose to the Pacers in OT, 103-96.

4 p.m. - Chicago Bulls @ New York Knicks (1995)
In his first visit back to the Garden since coming out of retirement, Michael Jordan scores 55 points and hits Bill Wennington with an assist for the game-winning basket in the 113-111 Bulls victory.

6 p.m. - Chicago Bulls @ Cleveland Cavaliers (1990)
Michael Jordan scores 69 points -- the 10th highest total in NBA history -- as Chicago wins 117-113 in overtime and clinches a spot in the playoffs.

8 p.m. - 1987 Slam Dunk Contest
Michael Jordan wins his first Slam Dunk Contest.

9 p.m. - 1989 Eastern Conf. First Round, Game 5
Chicago Bulls @ Cleveland Cavaliers
Michael Jordan scores his famous double clutch jump shot to beat the Cavs 101-100, allowing the Bulls to advance in the playoffs.

11 p.m. - 1986 Eastern Conf. 1st Round, Game 2
Chicago Bulls @ Boston Celtics
Michael Jordan's 63-point effort takes Larry Bird and the eventual NBA champion Boston Celtics into double OT. The Celtics finally pull away for a 135 131 victory.

1 a.m. (DST) - SportsCentury: Michael Jordan

2 a.m. - 1988 Slam Dunk Contest
Michael Jordan and Dominique Wilkins duel to the last dunk.
