This is hammerschlagen. Wisconsin fans are bringing some of their own flavor to the Michigan tailgate scene today.

Where's the defense in Stillwater?

Texas QB Shane Buechele connects with a wide-open Andrew Beck for a 42-yard TD. After the PAT was blocked, No. 22 Texas leads Oklahoma State 25-23 on ABC.

Miami honors Jose Fernandez with decal

The Miami Hurricanes will honor Jose Fernandez with a helmet decal in memory of the Marlins ace.

J.T. Barrett has another school record to his credit after his third touchdown pass of the first half. The Ohio State QB needed just 27 games to rack up 58 touchdowns through the air, passing Bobby Hoying to take over the top spot for the storied program.

Rudolph's run gives Cowboys the lead

Oklahoma State QB Mason Rudolph fakes the handoff before rolling to the left and diving for the 10-yard TD. This gave the Cowboys a short-lived lead on ABC.

Oklahoma State has now blocked THREE consecutive extra point attempts by Texas, including returning the second for a two-pointer. Texas leads, 25-23.

Adams attempts to hurdle defender

Notre Dame WR Josh Adams attempted to hurdle a Syracuse defender at the end of a 44-yard reception. He was stopped, but the big play set up a TD. The Irish lead 30-20 on ESPN.

The Badgers have arrived at the Big House.

Baylor's defense had been holding teams to a Big 12-best 0.9 points per drive going into today. Iowa State has TDs on its first 3 drives and a 21-7 lead. The Cyclones are doing anything they want today, particularly on the ground.

Perhaps the Miami defense is for real. The Hurricanes have completely flipped the script with their defense under Manny Diaz, and blew open its game against Georgia Tech with back-to-back scoop-and-scores in the second quarter. Miami went into Saturday ranking No. 2 in the nation in total D, No. 1 in tackles for loss and No. 4 in rush D.

Texas takes lead over Oklahoma State

Texas' Tyrone Swoopes enters the game and breaks a couple of tackles on this go-ahead 12-yard TD run. No. 22 Texas leads Oklahoma State 20-16 on ABC.

What is there to say about this game so far? It's been a hot mess. Or, as others would like to say: "funbad." There have been 551 total yards of offense, 2 special teams scores, Syracuse stopping a fourth-and-goal from the 1 and then converting one themselves, four total penalties, one targeting ejection, one called-back TD and, surely, plenty more to come. It's Notre Dame 30, Cuse 20 ... not even three minutes into the second quarter.

Notre Dame safety ejected for targeting

After Notre Dame's Devin Studstill launched into Syracuse quarterback Eric Dungey and was called for a personal foul, the replay booth initiated a targeting call. It's the first time that's happened this season.

Syracuse punches it in on fourth down

Syracuse QB Eric Dungey keeps it for a 1-yard TD run on fourth and goal. Notre Dame leads 23-20 after a wild first quarter on ESPN.

Iowa State holds early lead over Baylor

Iowa State WR DeShaunte Jones schools Baylor safety Orion Stewart on his way to a 43-yard TD. The Cyclones lead the No. 13 Bears 14-7 late in the first quarter.

Arkansas' offensive line is clearly not as effective as it was in recent years. Moments ago vs. Alcorn State, the Razorbacks ran behind a jumbo package on 3rd-and-2 and only got a yard, then elected to go for it on 4th-and-1 and still could not get the yard and turned it over on downs. The Hogs had issues on short yardage near the goal line against Texas A&M, which has one of the best defensive fronts in the country, but not being able to get two yards in two plays against an FCS team is a telling sign.

Austin Ward ESPN Staff Writer

After being transported to a local hospital following a first-quarter hit to the head, Rutgers LB Greg Jones has been communicating and has movement in his extremities, according to a school spokesman. Jones had been taken off the field on a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance, but the spokesman called that a precautionary measure.

Northwestern extends lead at Iowa

Northwestern QB Clayton Thorson throws an 11-yard strike to Austin Carr for a TD. The Wildcats lead 17-7 at Iowa on ESPNU.

Josh Moyer ESPN Staff Writer

Penn State police received notice of a potential threat against Beaver Stadium this morning but, after several "exhaustive" searches, police found no evidence of a risk. "Out of an abundance of caution we are notifying fans and the public of the threat that was received, so that they can make their own choices about personal safety and their attendance at today's game," said David Gray, senior vice president for Finance and Business. "Our first obligation is to the safety of the public and, while police and safety officials have given an all-clear for today's game, we wanted to ensure that visitors were aware of this decision."

Cowboys earn 2 points with heady play

Oklahoma State blocked a Texas extra-point attempt and on the return, a Cowboys player, thinking he wouldn't make it to the end zone, pitched back to a teammate, who took it the rest of the way.

Andrea Adelson ESPN Staff Writer

Miami went into its game against Georgia Tech allowing just 65 rush yards per game. But in the first quarter alone, the Jackets had 65 yards rushing. It is a much different story for a defense when it comes to defending the triple-option coach Paul Johnson favors.
