Baylor is good, and that could be a problem

The season at Baylor is uncomfortable and its scandal still simmers. On the field, the Bears are as good as ever. As they become Big 12 favorites, how will the college football world react?

Finebaum thinks Saban is being a hypocrite (1:56)
Trio of top-10 matchups set to provide playoff clarity (1:18)

North Carolina has played Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher one time (2010) -- and won. The Tar Heels are the only ACC school the seventh-year Seminoles coach hasn't beaten during his FSU tenure.

Webb gets Cal on the board early

Cal's Davis Webb finds Chad Hansen for 40 yards and a touchdown as the Golden Bears take a 7-0 lead over No. 18 Utah.

Watt sack thwarts Michigan drive

Wisconsin's T.J. Watt sacks Michigan's Wilton Speight for an 11-yard loss. The Badgers and Wolverines are tied at 7 in the fourth quarter.

For the second straight week, a Penn State player was ejected for targeting. Defensive tackle Curtis Cothran was called for a personal foul after making a hit on Minnesota QB Mitch Leidner in the third quarter. Was a close call. Looked as if Cothran got mostly shoulder pad -- but also hit Leidner in the facemask. Cothran will also have to miss the first half of next week's game against Maryland.

Nebraska drove 75 yards in 18 plays and ate 10:42 of clock on a painstaking drive for its first touchdown since the opening possession to retake the lead at 17-16 over Illinois. On the long drive, the Huskers overcame an injury to Jordan Westerkamp, converted two third downs on Illinois penalties and barely made it on fourth and 1 from the Illini 4.

ESPN Stats and Information

Jacob Eason's last touchdown pass had an air distance of 16 yards, his first completion on a throw of at least 10 yards downfield today. Before the TD play, the longest air yards on one of Eason's completions was 7.

Gibson makes catch with helmet ripped off

Shelton Gibson hauls in a 52-yard pass from Skyler Howard despite his helmet getting ripped off. West Virginia is trailing Kansas State 16-3 in the third quarter.

NC State had John Wolford dead to rights on third down but he somehow ducked, escaped and hit Tabari Hines to cut the Wake Forest deficit to 26-16 late in the third. Wolford has hung tough, as he has been wont to do in his three years under center for the Deacs.

Per ESPN Stats & Information, Georgia QB Jacob Eason's average target distance was 4.5 yards downfield in the first half. He threw one one pass that traveled 10+ yards downfield (incomplete). His six completions had an average air-yard distance of 0.2 yard downfield. Well he just fired a beauty to Isaac Nauta in stride for a 50-yard TD to give UGA a 24-14 lead here in the third.

ESPN Stats and Information

Auburn's Sean White left the game against Louisiana Monroe. The Tigers lead 56-7. White was responsible for three touchdowns, tying his single-game high (set in Week 2 this season against Arkansas State).

Greg Ostendorf ESPN Staff Writer

Remember John Franklin III from Last Chance U? He's having himself a game off the bench for Auburn today. Franklin went 80 yards for a touchdown on his first drive and followed that with a 39-yard touchdown strike to Nate Craig-Myers on the next possession. Auburn leads UL Monroe, 56-7, after three quarters.

West Virginia has been in the red zone three times today and has only come away with three points. Its most recent trip was fumbled away inside Kansas State's 5-yard line. Big reason why the Wildcats are leading 16-3 late in the third quarter.

David Ching ESPN Staff Writer

At this point, it's safe to accept that Leonard Fournette's injured ankle will keep him out of tonight's game against Missouri. Fournette is wearing a jersey and windpants as he watches the RBs warm up before the game. Expect Derrius Guice to take over the biggest workload as he did when Fournette missed the Jacksonville State game in Week 2.

Tar Heels extend lead over Seminoles

UNC QB Mitch Trubisky throws to Mack Hollins, who reaches for the pylon on the 15-yard TD. The Tar Heels are up 28-14 on No. 12 FSU on ESPN.

Williams hurdles defender for TD

Aggies' Trayveon Williams runs through the South Carolina defense and hurdles the final defender to complete a 49-yard TD run to give A&M a 14-7 lead in the third quarter.

ESPN Stats and Information

Colorado's 41-point win is its biggest winning margin in a conference game since 1992 (54-7 against Kansas State in the Big 8).

Cal is celebrating the 75th birthday of mascot Oski today, who is very popular at Memorial Stadium.

Max Olson ESPN Staff Writer

For the first time all season, TCU QB Kenny Hill threw a touchdown pass in the first half. And then he threw two more to give TCU a two-TD lead in the first quarter. Baker Mayfield just answered with his second rushing TD to make it 21-14. We're getting the fun QB duel we expected today.

Badgers even score with Wolverines

Dare Ogunbowale hauls in a 17-yard TD throw from Alex Hornibrook as Wisconsin evens the score with Michigan 7-7 midway through the third quarter.

And this is the view Cal's team will have when they walk through the inflatable Golden Bear in a few minutes.

Dan Murphy ESPN Staff Writer

Perfect throw on the wheel route from Alex Hornibrook gets Wisconsin on the board. Badgers take advantage of a long interception return to tie the score 7-7. They've been nothing if not opportunistic during the last two weeks.

Mitch Sherman ESPN Staff Writer

The Nebraska offense gathered to watch trainers tend to standout receiver Jordan Westerkamp, who appeared to suffer a back injury after making a third-down catch. It's been a difficult day for Westerkamp against Illinois, who may not bounce back as quickly from this as the last issue that caused him to leave the game.
