Baylor is good, and that could be a problem

The season at Baylor is uncomfortable and its scandal still simmers. On the field, the Bears are as good as ever. As they become Big 12 favorites, how will the college football world react?

Wolverines blank Badgers in first half

Channing Stribling picks off Wisconsin QB Alex Hornibrook late in the second quarter. The No. 4 Wolverines lead the No. 8 Badgers 7-0 at halftime.

Tabuyo's tremendous one-handed catch

Texas A&M QB Trevor Knight throws a 29-yard pass to WR Jeremy Tabuyo, who comes down with an incredible one-handed catch. The No. 9 Aggies are tied with South Carolina 7-7.

Two missed field goals are making the Michigan-Wisconsin game much more interesting. Michigan's Kenny Allen is 4-for-8 this season and has missed two so far today. Wolverines lead 7-0 at halftime.

Nightmare start for Oklahoma. Baker Mayfield fumbles on the third play of the day, TCU recovers at the OU 18-yard line and goes up 7-0 on an 18-yard TD pass from Kenny Hill to Jaelan Austin. All in the first minute of the game.

Tennessee trails Georgia 17-7 at the half. But we've seen this before from the Vols. Tennessee is 3-0 this season when trailing by 10 or more, the most double-digit comebacks in the country. They trailed by 21 in the second quarter last week against Florida and won 38-28

ESPN Stats and Information

Once Tennessee fell behind 17-0 to Georgia, it seemed predictable Josh Dobbs would get going.

I get why it's done, but it still looks weird, right?

Wisconsin only crossed midfield once, never got past the Michigan 38-yard line and had only 98 total yards in the first half. Somehow, the Badgers only trail 7-0 at halftime. Wolverines helped out with two missed field goals and a late slew of penalties.

NC State has had success through the air and defensively, limiting Wake Forest to three field goals as the Wolfpack enter halftime with a 23-9 lead. One thing that's continued to be a surprise is Wake's ground success, as the Deacs have averaged 6.2 yards per rush. They'll need some big plays from their defense, though, if they hope to turn this thing around in the second half.

Hurd fumbles just before goal line

Tennessee's Jalen Hurd thought he had a walk-in touchdown. Georgia's Deandre Baker had other ideas.

A chorus of boos rain down on Florida State as it heads to the locker room trailing 21-7. North Carolina's offense was rarely stopped, but a self-inflicted wound might have reenergized the Seminoles. Elijah Hood fumbled at the goal line right before the half to keep it a two-score game. Can FSU keep the momentum like it did against Ole Miss? Or will it's terrible defense keep FSU chasing?

Illinois leads No. 15 Nebraska at halftime

Illinois' Darius Mosely intercepts Nebraska QB Tommy Armstrong Jr. and takes it into Huskers' territory. The Fighting Illini added a field goal to take a 13-10 lead before the half.

The buzz on Cal's campus ahead of this game against Utah is all about WR Chad Hansen, who leads the nation with 50 catches.

Mitch Sherman ESPN Staff Writer

A sluggish finish to the first half for No. 15 Nebraska as Illinois, with help from backup QB Chayce Crouch, gets a pair of field goals, aided by a Darius Mosely interception of Tommy Armstrong Jr., to lead 13-10 in Lincoln. Wes Lunt is back for the Illini after missing two plays.

Cook puts Seminoles on the board

FSU RB Dalvin Cook's 9-yard TD run cuts the Tar Heels' lead over the Seminoles to 21-7 in the second quarter on ESPN.

Michigan is basically out-Wisconsining Wisconsin right now. The Wolverines' offensive line is getting a nice push up front despite losing starting LT Grant Newsome to injury. And Michigan's defense is putting the Badgers in a phone booth -- Wisconsin has just 29 rushing yards. Winning the battles up front helped Wisconsin beat LSU and Michigan State, but Michigan is proving to be another story thus far.

Armstrong sneaks it in for Huskers

Nebraska QB Tommy Armstrong Jr. sneaks into the end zone for a 1-yard TD. The No. 15 Cornhuskers lead Illinois 10-7 on ESPN2.

Tar Heels pulling away from Seminoles

UNC QB Mitch Trubisky stretches the ball into the end zone for a 4-yard TD. The Tar Heels lead No. 12 FSU 21-0 on ESPN.

Josh Pitre is a big LSU fan and a big Ed Orgeron fan. "He's one of us. It would be great if he could finish this thing off and be our coach," said Pitre, who went to the same high school as Orgeron, South Lafourche.
