Results of Maryland probe at least a week away

The results of an investigation into the alleged "toxic" culture of the Maryland football program will not be made public for at least another week, according to a news release Wednesday from the University System of Maryland.

Minnesota running back Shannon Brooks is back with the team after being released from jail Monday. Golden Gophers coach P.J. Fleck said that Brooks, arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic assault, has not been charged and that there were no injuries in the incident involving a male roommate. Minnesota hoped to get Brooks back for Saturday's game at Nebraska, but Fleck said Brooks' status "is evolving every day." Fleck and athletics director Mark Coyle ultimately will decide Brooks' status.

Ohio State star defensive end Nick Bosa intends to withdraw from school to focus on his rehabilitation from core muscle surgery and begin preparing for the 2019 NFL draft. Bosa suffered the injury in the third quarter of Ohio State's Sept. 15 win over TCU and underwent surgery Sept. 20 with a specialist in Philadelphia. Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer says in a statement that he "was hopeful Nick would be able to return to play again for us," but Meyer wishes Bosa well as he gets "100 percent healthy and ready for his next chapter." Bosa is widely projected as a top-5 pick in the 2019 draft.
