Jan. 1, 1969: Penn State trailed Kansas by a 14-7 score in the final minute of the 1969 Orange Bowl. The Nittany Lions blocked a punt and took over at midfield. After a 47-yard pass to the Kansas 3, quarterback Chuck Burkhart ran into the end zone to make it 14-13. Coach Joe Paterno decided to go for two points. Burkhart's pass was incomplete, but Kansas was penalized for having 12 men on the field. On the second try, halfback Bob Campbell swept into the end zone for a 15-14 victory.
