Nov. 30, 1985: Auburn quarterback Reggie Ware scored to give the Tigers a 23-22 lead with 57 seconds to play. Auburn fans would remember the 50th Iron Bowl forever, but not for that. The Crimson Tide had no timeouts and, after a second-down sack of quarterback Mike Shula, 88 yards to go. In three plays, Shula took the Tide to the Auburn 35. With six seconds remaining, Van Tiffin did the rest, sending a 52-yard field goal squarely over the crossbar. Alabama won, 25-23.
