Nov. 22, 2003: In 2003, the No. 15 Rebels had second-generation hero Eli Manning at quarterback and All-American kicker Jonathan Nichols, who had missed one field goal all season. A defeat of No. 3 LSU in Oxford would send the Rebels to their first SEC championship game. Nichols missed two field goals. Manning -- facing fourth-and-10 with 1:55 to play -- took the snap, took two steps back and fell down, tripped by his own lineman. LSU won 17-14. Ole Miss still hasn't been to the SEC title game.
