Pete Kmetovic's 61-yard punt return for a touchdown in the third quarter put away Stanford's 21-13 victory over Nebraska in the 1941 Rose Bowl. More important, the victory, which concluded a 10-0 season for a team that had gone 1-7-1 the season before, sold new coach Clark Shaughnessy's T formation to the football world. It became the standard offense for a generation.
