Oklahoma freshman running back Kennedy Brooks will miss the season with a shoulder injury, coach Lincoln Riley said after the Sooners' scrimmage Saturday. Brooks was a four-star signee, but not expected to play much his first season, with Rodney Anderson, Marcelias Sutton and Abdul Adams ahead of him on the depth chart.

Statement from Rich Rodriguez's attorney to ESPN in response to the lawsuit filed against him by his former agency alleging breach of contract: "Coach Rodriguez had an 'at-will' agency relationship with CAA that began in 2011. He paid CAA fees in excess of $280,000 through 2015, when he terminated the relationship. Rodriguez never entered in to a written contract with CAA, nor did he ever verbally agree to pay fees for any period after 2015." Rodriguez will fight this lawsuit "vigorously," his attorney said.

Miami coach Mark Richt was clearly unhappy with practice Friday, telling local reporters, "Everybody around here has to do their job, and right now, it's not happening. And I'm part of it. I'm leading it. It's on me. But I promise you, it's going to be on everybody else that needs to do what they're supposed to do." Asked whether struggles were common in fall camp, Richt said, "There's always days when I want to rip somebody, but today I'm ripping everybody, starting with me."

North Carolina has opted not to issue a statement following two days in front of the NCAA Committee on Infractions. So after about 15 hours worth of discussions, both sides left Nashville with no comment. Next step is a decision from the committee about possible sanctions.

Roy Williams leaves Nashville at 115 P central as NCAA hearings with regard to the UNC academic scandal conclude midway through day 2. The NCAA will have a press call in 60 to 90 days with a full report of its findings. North Carolina is expected to release a short written statement soon.
