Maryland has an opportunity to open the season 4-0 for only the second time since 2001 when it plays host to Purdue today. The Terps offense has been excellent so far, ranking third in the Big Ten in scoring (41.0 points per game) and second in rushing. This is an important game for both head coaches. Maryland's DJ Durkin can keep momentum rolling in his first season. Purdue's Darrell Hazell is 2-22 in Big Ten games and has yet to win more than one in a season. If the Boilermakers win, they'll be 3-1 overall this season and have visions of reaching a bowl game.

While Florida's o-line has struggled against Vanderbilt, the Commodores' o-line is starting to find its groove. They're averaging 5.7 yards per rush today (148 yards on 26 carries) with running backs Ralph Webb and Khari Blasingame serving as a capable duo. Vandy has pulled to within four points of the Gators, 10-6 with 2:54 left in the third quarter.

Quite the Georgia fan right here. Must be boiling in there

Michigan is wearing Derek Jeter-themed shirts to warm up this afternoon. Jeter, a Jordan brand ambassador and Wolverines fan, wrote a letter to the team to fire them up for a top-10 match-up with Wisconsin.

Hurricanes go ahead by two scores

Miami QB Brad Kaaya passes to Stacy Coley up the middle, who takes it for 31 yards to the pylon. No. 14 Miami leads Georgia Tech 35-21 in the third quarter on ESPN2.

Notre Dame and Syracuse's 60 first-half points were just five points fewer than the Giants and Jets have combined to score in their three total games at MetLife Stadium this season. There have been 727 total yards, with the promise of plenty more in the second half.

J.T. Barrett's four first-half TD passes

Ohio State QB J.T. Barrett throws four touchdown passes in the first half for No. 2 Ohio State against Rutgers. The Buckeyes lead 37-0 in the third quarter.

Matt Fortuna ESPN Staff Writer

Duke QB Daniel Jones has thrown 4 first-half picks vs. Virginia, which is about to enter halftime with a 20-10 lead. Jones looked like Joe Montana last week at Notre Dame.

UCF takes kickoff 100 yards to the house

UCF kick returner Adrian Killins runs up the middle untouched from one end of the field to the other, scoring a 100-yard TD. UCF leads East Carolina 16-7 at halftime.

Whether practice or hours before a critical ACC game, assistant Tino Sunseri is never far from Florida State quarterback Deondre Francois. The redshirt freshman is working on throwing on the run under Sunseri's watchful eye before the UNC game.

Iowa State's Joel Lanning has boosted his game so far today against Baylor. Lanning entered the game with a total QBR of 32, third-worst among Power 5 quarterbacks. But he has been nearly flawless against the Bears, completing 12-of-13 passes for 164 yards and a touchdown in the first half as Iowa State leads No. 13 Baylor 28-14. Matt Campbell needs some time but will have Iowa State in good shape soon.

Miami scores two defensive TDs ... in three snaps

Miami had so much fun returning a Georgia Tech fumble for a touchdown to make it 21-7, the Hurricanes did it again two snaps later to stun the crowd in Atlanta.

McCleskey having huge game vs. Texas

Oklahoma State's Jalen McCleskey catches the deep pass and avoids defenders en route to a 52-yard TD. He totaled 109 receiving yards and 2 TDs in the first half. The Cowboys lead No. 22 Texas 37-25 at halftime.

Adam Rittenberg ESPN Staff Writer

It's increasingly likely Notre Dame-Texas is this year's version of 2014 Texas A&M-South Carolina: More of a mirage than anything meaningful on the national radar. Notre Dame's defense doesn't appear fixable after allowing 324 yards and 27 points in the first half to Syracuse. Texas' defense might be even worse, enduring multiple breakdowns in technique and alignment. Oklahoma State is averaging 14.8 yards per pass and has converted 6-of-9 third-down opportunities in a 37-point first half.

Syracuse cuts Notre Dame lead to six

Syracuse's Eric Dungey capitalizes on Brisly Estime's 74-yard punt return with a 14-yard TD pass to Ervin Philips just before halftime. Notre Dame leads 33-27 at the half.

Jake Trotter ESPN Staff Writer

Texas' defense getting shredded yet again. Oklahoma State with five touchdowns and 390 yards of offense in the first half already. Cowboys lead 37-25 at halftime.

Hawkeyes take lead shortly before half

Iowa QB C.J. Beathard throws a 15-yard TD pass to Riley McCarron to take the lead over Northwestern late in the second quarter. The Hawkeyes lead 21-17 at halftime.

Matt Fortuna ESPN Staff Writer

UVA standout Andrew Brown was just carted off the field at Duke with what looked like a shoulder injury. Tough, tough break for the former ballyhooed recruit who was having a breakout season.

Austin Ward ESPN Staff Writer

After an early interception, J.T. Barrett's Heisman Trophy campaign is up and rolling again after throwing four first-half touchdowns against Rutgers. But there might be another offensive threat for the Buckeyes worthy of some Heisman hype with Curtis Samuel continuing to be a multipurpose weapon: The do-it-all H-back had 59 rushing yards and 70 receiving yards with a touchdown during another productive half for Ohio State.

Florida struggling at Vanderbilt

Florida RB Jordan Scarlett breaks through the Vandy defense for the only TD of the first half. The No. 23 Gators lead 10-3 at halftime.

Sam Khan Jr. ESPN Staff Writer

Florida's offensive line has had its hands full with Vanderbilt's defensive front. The Commodores have four tackles for loss in the first half and Vanderbilt senior defensive lineman Adam Butler has been particularly dominant, racking up two sacks already. The No. 23 Gators have a 10-3 advantage at halftime.

Matt Fortuna ESPN Staff Writer

AJ Reed connects on a career-long 38-yard FG to give Duke a 10-6 lead on UVA in the second quarter, a bit of a breakthrough for Duke after 2 Daniel Jones interceptions. Can the Hoos do anything with the ball, though? They have 5 penalties and have not gotten the ground game going at all yet.

Josh Moyer ESPN Staff Writer

It's pretty overcast today at Beaver Stadium, where Penn State and Minnesota will meet at 3:30 p.m. It's essentially rained here for 3-4 days in a row, so running the ball should be especially important -- which should be an especially big problem for PSU. The Nittany Lions have all sorts of issues in the trenches, and at linebacker, so bad weather should only help the Gophers in this game.
