Purdue defends itself against Jim Harbaugh's comments, while welcoming a league-wide discussion about guidelines for visiting team accommodations. "The after-the-fact concerns expressed by Michigan are somewhat surprising because a member of its football staff conducted a walk-thru of our facilities with our athletics department staff at Ross-Ade Stadium on July 18."

Washington State's Isaac Dotson on Sunday's NFL protests: "Those guys are standing up for what they believe in. They should have the right to do that. I can't quite say I agree with what the President had to say about it and you can see the backlash that's come from what he had to say. But that's a little bit out of my arena."

Florida State has played two good defenses and lost starting quarterback Deondre Francois. But these numbers are decidedly un-Florida State-like through two games: 72 yards rushing per game; 14 points per game and 316 yards per game – all last in the ACC.

Christian Wilkins, whose grandfather was shot and killed by police, says Clemson has no regrets about its White House visit or putting politics aside for the purposes of team. "Winning a national championship is such a big thing, such a big honor," he said. "It was politics aside for a lot of us. We knew we'd worked so hard to bring a national championship here, something that hadn't happened in Clemson for 35 years, and we knew the work we put in. So we wanted to experience everything that came with winning a national championship. A lot of guys put their politics aside for a team thing. We all wanted to go an experience it. Guys were happy to go experience it with their teammates because, who knows if you'll ever get that opportunity again, regardless of who is in office.”

Florida offensive tackle Kadeem Telfort, a freshman from Miami, faces 30 third-degree felony charges in two separate complaints, in which he allegedly used stolen credit card numbers to have food delivered to his dorm and fund his account at UF bookstore.

Mark Schlabach ESPN Senior Writer

State attorney Bill Cervone told ESPN on Monday that the Florida players were using stolen credit card numbers to add money to their university spending accounts, and in some cases the players used the stolen credit card numbers to make direct purchases. "Some of them did it one time, and then some of them have multiple offenses," Cervone said.

FSU associate AD Rob Wilson says the school will consider a makeup game against ULM on ACCCG weekend, if the Seminoles do not win the Atlantic. "We have been in contact with ULM, and we continue to explore options," Wilson said. "Currently that would be our only possible date if we were to make up the game this year. " FSU has started 0-2, and with games left against Wake (4-0), Clemson (4-0), Louisville (3-1), Miami (2-0) and Florida (2-1) among others, finding a way to reschedule the ULM game canceled due to Hurricane Irma could be necessary for bowl eligibility purposes.

Florida star receiver Antonio Callaway and starting tailback Jordan Scarlett are among eight players facing a pair of felony charges as a result of the UF police department's investigation into credit card fraud. Callaway and Scarlett are among seven players facing two third-degree felony counts: fraud/swindle obtaining property under $20,000 and felony fraud/impersonation for using or possessing another person's ID without consent. Defensive lineman Jordan Smith faces three additional ID fraud charges.

In the wake of the NFL protests over the weekend, Nick Saban said that he isn't in favor of censorship of players. He said it's "painful" to see the lack of unity now but respects everyone's rights to express their beliefs. "Most good things come out of love, respect and compassion and unifying people," he said. "And most bad things come out of hate, dislike and deceit. Hopefully we can focus on the above and not the below."

Nick Saban says Ole Miss has the best group of receivers they've faced this year. Explosive plays on offense will be a point of emphasis against QB Shea Patterson and Co. "This will be a really challenging game for us in a lot of different ways," Saban said.

Nick Saban says the Vanderbilt game was probably the best they've played this season. "Everybody who played in the game was the player of the week because they bought in to what we wanted to do," he said.

Texas coach Tom Herman, on the premise of taking Iowa State lightly: "There are a lot of guys here that were there for 24-0 (in Ames two years ago). There will be zero taking of (Iowa State) lightly."

How well did Bama play at Vandy? The coaching staff named the ENTIRE offensive and defensive travel squads as players of the week.

Iowa State coach Matt Campbell on the advantage of Jack Trice Stadium, especially on midweek night games: "One of things that makes (Iowa State) special is this fan base is electric."

Dan Murphy ESPN Staff Writer

Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh says Big Ten needs to establish a protocol for visiting team facilities at stadiums. "Gamesmanship should cease at the line of health and safety for players."

Jake Trotter ESPN Staff Writer

Baylor coach Matt Rhule on QB Zach Smith, who threw 463 yards and 4 TDs against Oklahoma: "It cements to him, hey I can do this. For him to play the way he did, it really gives him the confidence that he can make the big play, while not making bad decisions. ... That's something to build on."

Dan Murphy ESPN Staff Writer

Michigan quarterback Wilton Speight wouldn't be able to play this week if the Wolverines weren't in a bye week. Jim Harbaugh said the play that called the injury was "egregious." His status going forward is uncertain for now.

Jake Trotter ESPN Staff Writer

Baylor coach Matt Rhule on K-State: "My kind of football team. If I could think of what I'd want a football team to look like, it would be them."

3-0 Texas Tech ranks second nationally in turnover margin, and has forced nine turnovers. Said Kliff Kingsbury, "That's what we've been searching for. That's why I was so excited about having (defensive coordinator) David Gibbs for a third year. We're developing a culture, developing an identity."

Jake Trotter ESPN Staff Writer

West Virginia coach Dana Holgorsen on next opponent TCU: "They're really, really good. It's hard to win in Stillwater and they did it convincingly. The quarterback (Kenny Hill) is playing as good as anybody in the country. They look like a top 10 team to me."

Jake Trotter ESPN Staff Writer

TCU has converted 63 percent of its third downs this season. Since at least 2004, when the NCAA began keeping third down statistics, no team has finished with a better third-down rate.

David Beaty said his staff has always seen potential in sophomore RB Khalil Herbert. But in the last two games, he's putting it together, rushing for 137 yards against Ohio, then 291 against West Virginia. Said Beaty: "We knew he was a talented player. We think this is something we can build on."

Seth Walder ESPN Analytics

After beating Oklahoma State, TCU has jumped up to No. 3 in Strength of Record. SOR is purely a measure of accomplishment, quantifying the percentage chance an average top-25 team could achieve a record a team has given the opponents and circumstances in that team's games. Oklahoma remains atop the list.

Where is USC in FPI? Well the Trojans dropped to No. 16, though their rating stayed about the same. The model has been down on USC since the preseason, and only beating Cal by 10 didn't impress FPI enough to move the Trojans up.
