TCU now has more first downs (18) than Oklahoma State does offensive snaps (17). Frogs rolling, 20-7.

USC offense finally got going on that drive, spurred largely by some success with the run. QB Sam Darnold throws an easy 16-yard touchdown to TE Tyler Petite. Darnold off boot action, rolled right and dumped it to Petite, who did the rest. Darnold's best throw so far today came a few plays earlier when he moved up in pocket and fit throw into tight window to WR Tyler Vaughns for 12 yards.

TCU is executing Gary Patterson's gameplan perfectly. The Horned Frogs have run 31 plays, to Oklahoma State's 16. And after that forced fumble of Mason Rudolph, the Horned Frogs have the ball again.

After opening the year behind two veterans on the depth chart, Clemson RBs Tavien Feaster (soph) and Travis Etienne (fr) have electrified the Tigers' run game the last two weeks. They helped key a 13-play, 95-yard drive to give Clemson a 7-0 lead, and the two have combined for 248 yards on 26 carries in their last 6 quarters.

Maryland is down to its third-string quarterback as Kasim Hill sustained a right leg injury in the first quarter today against UCF. Hill stayed down after a scramble and didn't put any weight on his leg as he was helped to the sideline. The dynamic freshman replaced Tyrrell Pigrome, who tore his ACL in Maryland's season-opening win at Texas. Max Bortenschlager replaced Hill.

There haven't been any mysteries or surprises in the Alabama-Vanderbilt game. The Crimson Tide have owned the Commodores in the line of scrimmage in jumping out to a 21-0 first-quarter lead. Vanderbilt had only given up a total of 13 points in its first three games.

Cal's 245-pound Vic Enwere busts through the scrum to score the game's first TD, giving the Bears a 10-3 lead early in the second. USC is apparently in for another slugfest this week.

Florida State last started 0-2 in 1989 with losses to Southern Miss (QB: Brett Favre) & Clemson. Noles fell out of AP poll, won 10 straight, finished No. 3 & didn't leave AP poll again until 2001.

Joel Anderson ESPN

Cal offensive lineman Michael Saffell, a 290-pound freshman, absolutely buried USC's end on that 23-yard first down run by Vic Enwere. If no one else noticed big fella, I did.

With that 86-yard TD reception, Oklahoma State WR James Washington now has 8 receptions of 50 or more yards since the start of last season, which is the most in FBS in that span. The Cowboys have now outscored opponents 66-6 in the first quarter this season, best scoring margin and most points in the 1st quarter in FBS.

One coach who entered the season on the hot seat but has cooled things off a bit? Kliff Kingsbury. His Texas Tech team followed its win over Arizona State with a solid road win at Houston, which it held to 10 points in the first three quarters. The 3-0 Red Raiders still must show they can handle Big 12 offenses, beginning next week against Oklahoma State, but this is an encouraging start for Kingsbury.

Jake Trotter ESPN Staff Writer

TCU CB Ranthony Texada held SMU All-American WR Courtland Sutton to one catch and no yards last week. James Washington just ran by Texada for an 86-yard touchdown reception. TCU has dominated this first quarter. And Oklahoma State leads, just like that.

Alex Scarborough ESPN Staff Writer

The infatuation with Bo Scarbrough is understandable, but Damien Harris is as good as they come at RB. A patient runner who can do it all in terms of blocking, pass-catching, etc.

Joel Anderson ESPN

USC walk-on freshman Chase McGrath, the hero of last week's double OT thriller over Texas, hits a 37-yard FG to tie the game at 3-3 with 4:39 left in the first quarter.

Nick Wagoner ESPN Staff Writer

USC QB Sam Darnold off to another shaky start against Cal today. On first three series, Darnold is 4-of-8 for 36 yards and has nearly thrown a pair of interceptions. Both of those near picks came when rolling to his right. Trojans seem to be seeking offensive identity still as they run a number of concepts from shotgun looks. Darnold has been under center just once so far today.

David M. Hale ESPN Staff Writer

At the end of the first quarter, Clemson — a 34-point favorite — is tied 0-0 with Boston College. This shouldn't be a huge surprise. Two years ago here, Clemson led BC just 10-7. Four years ago, it was also 0-0. The Tigers won both those games by double digits.

Joel Anderson ESPN

USC is missing three starters in today's game vs. Cal. RB Ronald Jones, WR Steven Mitchell Jr., and LB Porter Austin. They were all banged up last week vs Texas.

Joel Anderson ESPN

Sam Darnold, rolling out to his right under pressure, nearly threw his 7th interception of the season but officials have ruled soph CB Josh Drayden didn't have possession of the ball going out of bounds.

Michigan kicker Quinn Nordin went 1 for 7 in warm-up kicks aiming AT the upright. Last week he hit 4 in a row

If you're wondering why Cal's uniforms look a little funkier today, they're a throwback to the 1970s era and a salute to former Bears quarterback Joe Roth who died of cancer in 1975.

Cal DBs coach Gerald Alexander, former NFL player and Black Twitter legend, takes the Cal DBs through their pregame salute to No-Limit Records.

TCU already with 6 first-quarter first downs vs Oklahoma State today. That matches the total first downs the Cowboys had allowed in the first quarter in its first 3 games combined.

Texas A&M outlasts Arkansas 50-43 in a wild overtime game that included six lead changes after halftime, 34 fourth quarter points, nine plays of 30-plus yards and a missed call that cost the Aggies four points. It's a huge win for Aggies' coach Kevin Sumlin, who has been under a lot of pressure and can't afford many more losses, and a blow to Arkansas coach Bret Bielema, who also has his fair share of critics and has yet to beat Texas A&M since taking over the Razorbacks in 2013.
