Will Webb, executive director of the Charlotte Sports Foundation, said Wednesday there is the possibility of hosting more kickoff classics in future seasons in Charlotte.
"We've had discussions with several schools about playing some marquee games in Charlotte," Webb said. "We hope to make an announcement at a later date."
West Virginia and Tennessee reportedly are two of those teams. The Mountaineers are "finalizing a deal" to play Tennessee in 2018 in Charlotte, WVU director of football operations Alex Hammond told the Charleston Gazette.
In February, the ACC signed a six-year extension to keep its conference title game in Charlotte. Bank of America Stadium has hosted the ACC title game since 2010.
