Devin Lauderdale suspended indefinitely by Texas Tech

Texas Tech wide receiver Devin Lauderdale has been suspended indefinitely, the school announced Thursday.

Lauderdale is Texas Tech's second-leading receiver, with 43 receptions, 639 receiving yards and four touchdown catches this season. A school spokesman said Lauderdale had failed to uphold the athletic department's student-athlete expectations.

Texas Tech also revealed that defensive end Mike Mitchell would be transferring for a second time. A former ESPN 300 prospect, Mitchell originally signed with Ohio State out of Plano, Texas.

Sophomore defensive backs Jalen Barnes and Derrick Dixon also will be leaving the Red Raiders.

Texas Tech faces LSU on Dec. 29 in the AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl.
