Ohio State defensive end Nathan Williams likely will miss the rest of the season with a left knee injury, Buckeyes coach Luke Fickell said Tuesday.
Williams, a starter, sustained the injury in Ohio State's season opener against Akron and has not returned.
He underwent arthroscopic surgery Sept. 13. Fickell said Williams likely will need another operation.
Williams has a redshirt year available and would be able to use it to maintain one year of eligibility.
He recorded 89 tackles, including 20½ tackles for a loss, in the past three seasons.
