Purdue starting linebacker Dwayne Beckford was arrested early Friday on suspicion of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
According to a Purdue University police log, Beckford was arrested at 3:57 a.m. Friday. The junior leads the Boilermakers in tackles with 91 and has seven tackles for loss, three sacks and an interception this season.
A team spokesman said coach Danny Hope is aware of the incident. Hope is out of town recruiting Friday and Saturday and will meet with Beckford upon his return to "determine disciplinary action."
Purdue plays Western Michigan on Dec. 27 in the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl in Detroit.
