Florida State's defense received a boost for 2012 on Monday, as cornerback Xavier Rhodes said he will pass on the NFL draft and return to school.
Rhodes, despite his redshirt sophomore status, was considered a possible first-round selection had he entered the draft.
He will instead return to the Seminoles in 2012 along with defensive lineman Brandon Jenkins, another possible first round draft choice, and cornerback Greg Reid, who also considered turning pro.
Rhodes, who is listed at 6-foot-2 and 215-pounds, injured a knee in Florida State's win over Notre Dame in the Champs Sports Bowl. He was credited with 43 tackles and had one interception in 2011.
