Sooners' Daryl Williams sidelined

NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma will be without starting right tackle Daryl Williams for Saturday's game against Oklahoma State.

Bob Stoops said Monday that Williams suffered a knee sprain at West Virginia and will miss the rest of the regular season. Stoops is hopeful that Williams will be able to return in time for the Sooners' bowl game.

The Sooners have been ailing up front offensively all year. In the preseason, they lost starters Ben Habern and Tyler Evans to season-ending injuries. Guards Adam Shead and Bronson Irwin and left tackle Lane Johnson have had to sit out plays because of nagging ankle injuries. And two weeks ago, center Gabe Ikard was sidelined because of a concussion.

With Williams out, the Sooners likely will slide Johnson from left to right tackle, where he started last season, and bring in Tyrus Thompson at left tackle.
