INDIANAPOLIS -- Wisconsin running back Montee Ball has broken one NCAA record and tied another.
The Football Bowl Subdivision's career record-holder for touchdowns (81) became the career leader in rushing touchdowns (74) during the first half of the Big Ten title game against Nebraska and tied the mark for most career games with two or more scores (25). Ball broke the tie with Travis Prentice of Miami (Ohio) for rushing touchdowns on a 16-yard score midway through the second quarter.
He tied Prentice's record for multi-TD games with a 9-yard run up the middle early in the third quarter.
A week earlier, Ball broke a tie with Prentice's record for career scores (78).
Ball rushed for 111 yards in the first half of Saturday night's game in Indianapolis.
