KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Western Kentucky has turned the ball over five times in a span of six plays from scrimmage in the first quarter of its game with Tennessee.
Tennessee scored after each of the turnovers -- including three interceptions by Brandon Doughty -- to take a 31-3 lead.
The parade of turnovers started when Justin Coleman scored on a 23-yard interception return. After a 3-yard run by Keshawn Simpson on the next possession, Cameron Sutton scored on a 36-yard interception return.
Western Kentucky finished the day with seven turnovers, including five interceptions by Doughty, who was 17 of 34 for 222 yards with one touchdown pass.
Tennessee won 52-20.
