Coker was injured in the second half of Florida State's 59-3 win over Wake Forest. It was a non-contact injury, Fisher said, and Coker is expected to have surgery Tuesday. A timetable for his return will be determined after the extent of the damage is evaluated during the procedure.
"It could be a week, two weeks," Fisher said. "We'll have to wait until they get in there, because it could be five or six."
Coker battled Heisman candidate Jameis Winston for the starting job until the final week of fall camp this year, and he's actually seen nearly as much second-half action since the season began as Winston has.
For the year, Coker has completed 18 of 36 throws for 250 yards with an interception, adding 15 yards and a touchdown on the ground. But with the high number of blowout wins for the Seminoles, Coker has seen action in all but two games. He has 19 attempts in the fourth quarter this season -- one more than Winston.
