Bulls go with alternate shoes to bring awareness of mental health

College Football, South Florida Bulls

The No. 18 South Florida Bulls wear green uniforms every week. But this week, the green will mean a little more.

South Florida will wear its usual green uniforms Saturday night against the Cincinnati Bearcats (7:30 p.m. ET. ESPNU/ESPN App) with alternate sneakers and gloves that are meant to bring awareness of mental health issues.

Green is the color of mental health awareness, and the American Athletic Conference is in the midst of a yearlong initiative to raise awareness about the issue. There are green shirts, green bands and, in the case of the Bulls, green laces in their sneakers.
