2016 Schedule
3-0, 1st in Big Ten - East

From a class rankings perspective, the 2017 class has been the most successful recruiting class for the Big Ten conference as a whole. There are currently six Big Ten teams ranked within the top 25 of the class rankings, and at one point that number was up to seven. Both numbers are higher than any other recruiting class for the conference since ESPN started its class rankings. The teams currently in the top 25 are Ohio State, Michigan, Maryland, Penn State, Iowa and Nebraska.

What an end to the game for Maryland. Terps D forced a fumble on the 2-yard line in 2 OT. Starting QB Perry Hills got injured on the next play -- and then the backup, Tyrrell Pigrome, ran for the game-winning 24-yard TD on the very next play. That's one heck of a three-play swing of emotions right there. UMD 30, UCF 24

Terps QB Perry Hills has shown flashes so far, tossing a pretty 51-yard pass to set up a FG to give his team a 10-7 halftime lead. It may not seem like much, but you really have to give credit to OC Walt Bell here. We're on Week 3, and Hills has yet to throw an interception. He tossed a pick once every 14 attempts last year. He's thrown 49 passes so far this season.

The good news for Maryland's offense is it's not turning the ball over. The bad news? Everything else. The Terps have 27 total yards of offense after the first quarter. This is the first time we've really seen QB Perry Hills face adversity this season, so this should go a long way in measuring just how much he's rebounded from a rough 2015.

Week 3 in the Big Ten: What to watch for

Some Big Ten teams can finish their nonconference schedules this week without a loss. Here's a look at how likely a perfect 3-0 start is for them.

Maryland coach D.J. Durkin says seeing UCF against his former team(Michigan) made it very clear that the Knights have players with big-play ability and a lot of speed.

Who is college football's top recruiter?

The college football season is two weeks old, but the best recruiters have been at it non-stop. Early in the season, LSU's Bradley Dale Peveto is the top recruiter, but other schools are close.

Maryland and Rutgers will hold a football and wrestling doubleheader at Yankee Stadium next season, Maryland announced Tuesday morning. The two Big Ten teams will meet on Nov. 4, 2017, and the event has been dubbed, "Big Ten Battle in the Bronx."

Maryland sophomore D.J. Moore just had his remember-my-name performance, as he set career highs in catches (6), receiving yards (147) and touchdowns (2). He may not have gone up against a great defense tonight, but he showed he'll be a force in the Big Ten. Moore had flashes last year but didn't have help from his QBs; looks to be a different story in 2016.

Maryland QB Perry Hills hasn't exactly been tested so far this season -- with Howard last week and FIU tonight -- but he still seems to have taken a step forward. He threw an interception in every game he played last year and averaged one pick every 14 attempts. Through six quarters of play this year, he hasn't thrown a single turnover. He's also 24-of-32; he completed just half his passes last year.

Josh Moyer ESPN Staff Writer

Maryland-FIU may not be the hottest ticket this week, but there's one big reason to watch tonight's game: Maryland do-everything Will Likely, one of the Big Ten's most dynamic players, who returns home to South Florida to play in front of quite a few friends and family. He'll be involved in every aspect of the game and should be good for a few highlights.
