Midterm football recruiting class grades

The first early signing period is in the books. With almost seven weeks until national signing day, some grades are incomplete, but here's how teams have fared.

I'm told the deal isn't finalized but all signs point toward Syracuse co-offensive coordinator Sean Lewis becoming the next Kent State coach later this week. Football Scoop first reported the move. Lewis has spent the past six seasons with Dino Babers at Syracuse, Bowling Green and Eastern Illinois. Syracuse set more than 40 team records on offense under Lewis.

Jackson highlights ACC's best

The reigning Hesiman Trophy winner had another big game in the Cardinals' 44-17 win over Kentucky. With the impressive performance, Jackson has now tallied seven games this season with at least 200 yards passing and 100 yards rushing.

Syracuse coach Dino Babers on saying good-bye to his seniors Saturday: "They're going to be the cornerstone of what we're going to get done in the future. There's no doubt we're going to win here. But the 2017 class should get credit for that. I hope when these young men come back in 2018, 2019 and 2020 when things are different, the people in the community give them the due they deserve."

Jackson, Louisville roll in the rain past Syracuse 56-10

Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson had another big game against Syracuse, accounting for 381 yards and four touchdowns and becoming the school's career yardage leader while leading a rain-delayed 56-10 rout on Saturday.
