With the 187th pick (sixth round), the Seahawks have selected Cincinnati safety Mike Tyson. Tyson started 23 games for the Bearcats, seeing action at safety, corner and nickel. He had five interceptions last year and seven during his career. Tyson is the fourth defensive back and third safety that the Seahawks have selected. He may have to prove himself on special teams to earn a roster spot.

Time -- and wins and losses -- will ultimately tell if the hires during this coaching cycle made the dean's list, but it's not too early to review how the new 21 head coaches are doing so far.

Former Ohio State wide receiver Torrance Gibson has committed to joining Luke Fickell at Cincinnati and will return to playing quarterback. After his two years with the Buckeyes didn't work out following a redshirt year and a university-issued suspension, Gibson has enrolled at Cincinnati State to get an associate's degree that could make him eligible this season. "I'm confident about what is happening in the Queen City," Gibson told ESPN. "I'm just ready to roll."
